At the heart of our business is a commitment to staying local.

Just as our bees forage for nectar within a three mile radius of their hives, we strive to sell our honey to retailers within that same distance of each apiary.

By doing so, we celebrate and support our local community, ensuring or honey stays connected to the very landscape that creates its unique flavour.

Mice can cause significant damage to a beehive, especially in winter when bees are clustered and less active. They chew through the comb, wax and wooden frames, consume honey stores and bee larvae while contaminating the hive. #beekeeping #savethebees #surreyhoney

The woodpeckers have been at it again! During prolonged cold spells green woodpeckers can damage beehives as they try to reach the bees and brood for food. This hive fell victim to one determined woodpecker, but we patched it up and added chicken wire to protect it from future attacks.
Protecting our bees is always a priority, no matter the season!

We put bee blankets in all our hives during winter to maintain the temperature within the hive. Thanks to @hellofreshuk we’ve found a great way to recycle from our food delivery boxes!🥗♻️ Our friends and family even pass their ‘bee blankets’ to us so we can put them to good use too. Every little effort counts when it comes to sustainability! 🌍 #recycle #surreyhoney #keep it local #hellofreshuk
